We had a fantastic time at the 2016 National NMT Nursery Awards gala evening which took place in London on Saturday night.
The annual awards celebrate and reward the many individuals, teams and management groups throughout the country who consistently go above and beyond in their role within early years education. We feel privileged to have been part of such an inspiring and rewarding occasion.
As main sponsors, we would like to say a special well done to Lisa Weston from The Old School House Nursery for winning our sponsored category of Nursery Manager of the Year, alongside Thalia Fryatt from Happy Days Nurseries for winning the impressive Lifetime Achievement Award.
The judges chose Lisa because she is an innovative, forward thinking leader who focuses on identifying and drawing on the strengths of her team to implement change for the benefit of all stakeholders. Her focus on the health and well-being of children and her team shone through.
The judges chose Thalia because she is an extraordinary, unique, dynamo of a lady. Coming from Greece aged 10, she has invited and welcomed the local communities into her exceptional nurseries. Her nursery offering includes parties, forest schools, tennis courts, golf, extended and flexible opening hours and wonderful food. She lives and breathes childcare.
Congratulations to everyone who made the final. We know the competition is getting harder and harder by the sheer number and standard of entries this year, but it's your hard work and dedication that has made you among the stand out winners. Well done.
