The bits we missed out...
The Education Show
We had a fantastic time at the Education Show way back in February. Were you there? Our brand new
stand displaying some exciting latest products was certainly a crowd pleaser. Take a look at some
snapshots of the show...
We were delighted to be joined by several of our suppliers who were up for our prestigious
'Supplier of the Year' awards on Day 1 of the show. Mark Barnett, Chief Operating Officer of The Consortium,
was on hand to reveal all... Congratulations to Scolaquip who took the 2008 title, with BDC winning the 'Most
Improved Supplier' award. It's a superb way to praise our suppliers for their continuous hard work,
and what better place to present their award than in front of the people they work with at The Consortium
and our customers.
The Care Show
We had fun in the sun in Bournemouth for the Care Show in April. It was another busy and exciting show
for us. We showcased a selection of our favourite products from our latest catalogue; from giant Connect
4 and card games to a range of exciting sensory products. There was even time for some Nintendo Wii action,
demonstrating how the console can help keep residents physically and mentally active. Here’s a glimpse of
us at the show...
Chris Hubbard, The Consortium Care Brand Manager, presented a £2000 cheque to Sylvie Silver, Strategic
Director, from NAPA (National Association for Providers of Activities for Older People) for our continued
sponsorship and support of the charity.
And to top it all off, we hosted our second Care Dinner with an exciting guest list of care providers
and leading influential figures from the industry. A number of matters were discussed; from 'Quality of
Care and Residents' Wellbeing' to 'Activities in the Care Homes'.
