Under the sea is a fun topic for pre school children to learn about this important environment and the creatures that live there. An ocean topic can also be a great way to inspire children’s imagination with an Under the Sea display or themed area. Our display is made using easy and fun art and crafts which the children can create themselves.
We used a Ocean fadeless® designs backing paper for our display which gives a lovely feeling of the colour, light and movement of being under the sea. We extended our display to the surface against the wall by curving the paper around onto the surface and adding sand to create a seabed. This seabed surface is also a great place to add some under the sea models or fun themed activities for children including phonics pebbles, shells to count or a numbers fishing game. You could also add some of our Under the Sea small world play ideas or DIY sensory bottles for an additional sensory dimension and the opportunity for imaginative play.
For our display we used:
- Ocean fadeless® designs display paper
- Paper Bowl Jellyfish
- 7 Paper Plate Fish Crafts
- 10 Under the Sea crafts
