New printer cartridge recycling service
New printer cartridge recycling service
February 2011
The majority of used printer cartridges in the UK currently end up in landfill causing considerable environmental damage. Cartridges are made from a plastic that can take up to 1,000 years to fully decompose and any ink left inside will leak and pollute the surrounding environment. Most printer cartridges can be recycled as they can either be refilled or remanufactured so by recycling them we can conserve natural resources and energy.
The Consortium has introduced a new free service to help you recycle your printer cartridges. We’ll supply you with a recycling box for the used cartridges, when it’s full, just call the number on the side of the box (one of our many trusted partners!) and they will come and collect it from you to recycle the cartridges. It’s an easy and simple way to reduce our impact on the environment.
